Jika belajar Bahasa Inggeris untuk memahami ilmu yang ada demi memahami kejadian alam dan mencari kebenaran atau menambah iman.. maka ianya adalah AKHIRAT mengikut kaedah yang diberikan oleh TGNA tersebut;

WALLAAHUAKLAM.

HILANGNYA WARAS SEORANG SUAMI

Inilah bahayanya TAKSUB...

TASBIH ELEKTRONIK SATU BID'AH?

BASIC OF ISLAMIC BELIEF SYSTEM

dith said...
" As thw world approaches its end, we have the anti-hadiths, the anti-mazhabs, the anti-sufis...I guess it all arises when one gets a little knowledge and regards it's the epiphany of it all .. "

QUOTE from a commentor;
"I have always maintained that, if god truly had communicated with Muhammad, surely he would have come up with a book that EVERYONE clearly understands (god isn't stupid after all, supposedly the highest intelligence in the universe). So how is it that muslims think that only a scholar or imam can explain the Quran. Where in the Quran does Allah say that he needs an interpreter?"..

Reading the above makes me shiver..

How much misunderstanding or rather no understanding AT ALL of what Islam stands for; the basic message / belief system of Islam.

I am not a qualified 'alim' or the learned in Islam but feels that the above question needs no Alim's vast knowledge to explain. It should be within the understanding and iman of the ordinary Muslim person.

First and foremost;
Islam is the 'religion' (DEEN) from God AlMighty (ALLAH s.w.t) delivered to Muhammad (mpbuh); His Messenger (RASOOL) for the whole of mankind until The End of Days (Qiamah); to be accepted and believed, practiced and lived with at personal level and in the society in order to achieve JUSTICE as ONLY God AlMighty; the Creator knows. Only GOD knows the full rights and responsibilities of humans; His creations, His Design.

Second;
God delivers The Qur'an to Muhammad (mpbuh) IN STAGES according to the needs of the Islamic Society at the time; thus enabling The Qur'an to be learned, memorised and practiced. Muhammad (mpbuh) himself dictated the order of the Quranic ayats.

God in HIS WISDOM did not deliver the Qur'an in ONE COMPLETE BOOK to be taught by Muhammad (mpbuh) like we learn in schools and universities. God delivers The Qur'an in stages AS ANSWERS to the problems and questions faced by the emerging Islamic Society and gives the direction. The Qur'an was a Book of Guidance at the time AND till the Qiamah.

Had God delivers The Qur'an to be learnt like other great books of today such as Kenichi Ohmae's Borderless World and other works of great authors of our time, it would fail to be THE LIVING GUIDANCE and just be relegated to the specifics with end result of being scholars.. However The Qur'an is NOT LIKE THAT.. The Qur'an targets to all people of all walks of life; scholars or buffons, child or elders, male or female, Arabs, chinese or Europeans, academics or law makers... all spectrum of the society.

Third
The practices of Muhammad is as important as the Qur'an and is called The Sunnah.

Allah says;
"Obey Allah and His Messenger": But if they turn back, Allah loveth not those who reject Faith.. Al Imran Verse 32.

Sura:16. Nahl Verse:64 Pickthall's Translation
"And we have revealed the Scripture unto thee only that thou mayst explain unto them that wherein they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.."

Muhammad puts The Qur'an into practice and becomes The Walking, Living Qur'an.. This is narrated by A'isyah, the wife of The Prophet. His practices, explanation and guidance makes the emerging Islamic Society unfailing on the Right path and EARNED THE STAMP OF APPROVAL FROM GOD THE MOST HIGH as in the last delivered verse of The Qur'an;

Sura: 5. Maa'idah Verse: 3 Yusuf Ali's Translation..."..This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favor unto you, and have chosen for you as religion AL- ISLAM."

The STAMP OF APPROVAL that Allah Most High gave was to THE DEEN BEING PUT IN PRACTICE by the Islamic Society under the Guidance of Allah's Messenger Muhammad (mpbuh). So please understand that The Qur'an AND The Deen was being endorsed and NOT Just THE BOOK. The Qur'an is about Guidance and Practices..

Fourth;
Does Qur'an needs interpreter... Most Definitely as Allah Himself declared in the Surah an Nahl Verse 64 above. The interpreter is The Prophet (mpbuh). Only His understanding is PERFECT.

This is called Al Hikmah in the Quran. There are countless verses that refers to AL QURAN WAL HIKMAH.. The Quran and The Prophet's Understanding (the essence of it is called The Sunnah)..

Now WHO CAN CLAIM TO HAVE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROPHET??????

Can learning the Qur'an through interpretations without the basic knowledge of the As Baabun Nuzul (history behind the Qur'an revealation of each ayat), Quranic Arabic, hafiz (the he can relates to all other verses because he memorise the Quran), learning of Hadeeths.. How can we be so arrogant before Allah to say we can, by just our faculty of mind and so very, very limited knowledge ???

A surgeon is not a surgeon by just reading books. He undergoes a qualified training to be surgeon. Who in their right mind would let temselve be operated by a surgeon who just learn from textbooks?? So how can be have the audacity to think we can learn and fully understand Allah's prescription to us by just reading translation of the Qur'an?? Only those who have undergone the training under The Prophet (his sahabah) best understand the deen.. These were further transmitted down the line through Islamic schools. This is how it should be..

AIR MATA RASULULLAH

'Semua syurga terbuka lebar menanti kedatanganmu, '
kata Jibril.

'Khabarkan kepadaku bagaimana nasib umatku kelak?'

'Jangan khawatir, wahai Rasul ! Allah, aku pernah mendengar Allah berfirman kepadaku: 'Kuharamkan syurga bagi siapa saja, kecuali umat Muhammad telah berada di dalamnya,' kata Jibril.

Detik-detik semakin dekat, saatnya Izrail melakukan tugas. Perlahan ruh Rasulullah ditarik.

Nampak seluruh tubuh Rasulullah bersimbah peluh, urat-urat lehernya menegang. 'Jibril, betapa sakit sakaratul maut ini.' Perlahan Rasulullah mengaduh.

'Jijikkah kau melihatku, hingga kau palingkan wajahmu Jibril?'

Mampukah kita mencintai sepertinya?

Allahumma sholli 'ala Muhammad wa baarik wa salim 'alaihi

Betapa cintanya Rasulullah kepada kita.

OBEY ALLAH AND OBEY HIS MESSENGER

003.031 YUSUFALI: Say: "If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
PICKTHAL: Say, (O Muhammad, to mankind): If ye love Allah, follow me; Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
SHAKIR: Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, MercifuL

003.032 YUSUFALI: Say: "Obey Allah and His Messenger": But if they turn back, Allah loveth not those who reject Faith.
PICKTHAL: Say: Obey Allah and the messenger. But if they turn away, lo! Allah loveth not the disbelievers (in His guidance).
SHAKIR: Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.

Obey Allah AND obey His Messenger is the crux of the Message of Islam. It is embodied in the Kalimah Syahadah ... Laa ila hail lallah.. Muhammadar rasul lullah

Nowadays there is a tendency to brush away al-Hadiths as a source of Jurisprudence on the argument that that ONLY the Qur'an is ASSURED OF PURITY and Hadiths are full of weaknesses because of the history of compilation and the presence of false Hadiths. This makes the use of Hadiths as a source doubtful. Furthermore there are discrepancies in Hadiths not found in the Qur'an.

I can only say this... ALLAH KNOWS BEST. When Allah Himself give the addict; OBEY ALLAH, OBEY HIS MESSENGER, Allah means exactly that... Obey BOTH. There should be no takwil on this command from Allah Most High, Most Knowing. When Allah in His endless Knowledge instruct us to obey BOTH then Allah in His Knowledge know that the Prophetic injunctions are available to the Muslims to fulfil the meaning of Obey His Messenger. To deny this means to deny the Everlasting Knowledge of Allah. If we believe that The Qur'an is everlasting till the Day of Kiamah, by this ayat we also acknowledge that the Hadiths are also protected, albeit with more studies on the Hadiths' Authenticity.

I have heard someone argues that Obey The Messenger here is similiar to Obey Allah since The Rasul ONLY teaches The Qur'an; nothing else BUT the Qur'an. I do not know what to say to this argument other than that the person have involuntarily accuse Allah as feeble minded and engages in duplicity. On one hand Allah said, 'Obey Allah'.. This is to mean Obey The Qur'an because Allah's instruction is embodied in The Qur'an and brought down by The Messenger for human consumption.

However Allah also says "Obey His Messenger"... How to obey His Messenger? To follow the Qur'an is to Obey Allah.. So where is the messages to follow the Obey The Messenger part??? To say that Obey His Messenger is follow the Qur'an is to say that Allah puts TWO SIMILIAR COMMANDS in the same ayat separated by the word AND, and means EXACTLY THE SAME THING is to say Allah is feeble minded.. astagh firullaahal azim.. So the only logical interpretation is that, To Follow His Messenger is to means following The Rasol's injunctions apart from The Qur'an.. This must surely be al Hadiths.

Some says that this injunction is only applicable DURING THE LIFE OF THE MESSENGER and after that we are only to follow al Qur'an. This is also a faulty argument. One of the Role of His Messenger is The Clarifier. He clarifies al Qur'an.

Sura:16. Nahl Verse:64 Pickthall's Translation
And we have revealed the Scripture unto thee only that thou mayst explain unto them that wherein they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.

He guides his followers based on The Qur'an; nothing else BUT The Qur'an. He becomes the Role Model. He practices al Qur'an and put into PRACTICAL FORMS. This is embodied in the Hadiths. Without the Hadiths we are lost as to how His Messenger puts the Qur'an into Practical form for us to follow and base on.

After His Messenger practices The Qur'an FULLY and puts into SOCIETY all the tenets and teachings, Allah revealed this ayat..

Sura: 5. Maa'idah Verse: 3 Yusuf Ali's Translation
This day are those who disbelieve in despair of (ever harming) your religion; so fear them not, fear Me! This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favor unto you, and have chosen for you as religion AL- ISLAM.

Allah declares that whatever the Rosul have taught and put into practice, Allah declares it as PERFECT in religion. This is the Last Ayat prior to The Messenger's death. After Allah have guided the Muslim Society through the hands of His Messenger and declares that whatever The Messenger have achieved in society is PERFECT RELIGION, how dare we say that after His Death, we should forget about Muhammad's Teachings and practices. This is TOTAL REJECTION of Allah's command and His Seal of Approval to the practices perfected by The Messenger as per the ayat above.

QUR'ANIC VERSES OF MUHKAMAT AND MUTASHABIHAT

AL IMRAN Verse 007
YUSUFALI: He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

PICKTHAL: He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.

SHAKIR: He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it (their own) interpretation. but none knows its interpretation except Allah, and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding.

The majority Qur'an verses are clear and readily understood. That is the essence of the verse. Hence, the fear of reading from the Qur'an and directly reading the translation for fear of misguidance is very difficult to swallow. Allah instruct us to read the Qur'an for within it is Guidance to Men of understanding. So how come this fear?

The question arises as to the reason behind the revelation of any particular verses, the Asbabun Nuzul. However we must understand that it as a matter of faith that al Qur'an is a Book of Guidance till the Day of Qiamah. As such eventhough there is a historical account as to the reason behind the revealation of many verses, the guidance therein is UNIVERSAL; aplicable through out the ages, till Yaumul Qiamah.

Reading direct from the Qur'an is so much different from reading commentaries. Commentaries are human interfaced to the Kalaamullah; Words of Allah, ie The Qur'an. The more the human interfacing there is, the less we get to the vibrancy of the original text. Reading it in the flow of Quranic text, words by words eventhough the grammar is alien from the translated language's grammar, is very fulfilling and the feeling of nearness and intimacy to Allah is there. There is currently in the market such a book called Syaamil al Quran. I am reading this as a matter of routine now.
Those of perversity prefers to delve in the mutasyabihat; the allegorical verses as opposed to the muhkamat; the clear and fundamental verses that deal with matters in a matter of factly. We dont have to seek and seek and try to find takwil that support certain stand of which we feel comfortable with. So when Allah says the Disbelievers are dwellers of Jahannam and they abide forever, it means exactly that. We dont have to takwil that in the bountless `Rahman and Rahim' attributes of Allah, He would in the end forgive them. The verse is clear, a muhkamat, no more ifs and buts.
Extract from Milestone by Syed Qutb;
The spring from which the Companions of the Prophet - peace be on him-drank was the Qur'an; only the Qur'an, as the Hadith of the Prophet and his teachings were offspring of this fountainhead. When someone asked the Mother of the Faithful, Aisha-may God be please- with her,-about the character of the Prophet-peace be on him,-she answered, "His character was the Qur'an" [Al-Nisaa]

The Holy Qur'an was the only source from which they quenched their thirst, and this was the only mold in which they formed their lives. This was the only guidance for them, not because there was no civilization or culture or science or books or schools. Indeed, there was Roman culture, its civilization, its books and its laws, which even today are considered to be the foundation of European culture. There was the heritage of Greek culture- its logic, its philosophy and its arts, which are still a source of inspiration for Western thought. There was the Persian civilization, its art, its poetry and its legends, and its religion and system of government. There were many other civilizations, near or far, such as the Indian and Chinese cultures, and so on. The Roman and Persian cultures were established to the north and to the south of the Arabian peninsula, while the Jews and Christians were settled in the heart of Arabia.
Thus we believe that this generation did not place sole reliance on the Book of God for the understanding of their religion because of any ignorance of civilization and culture, but it was all according to a well thought out plan and method. An example of this purpose is found in the displeasure expressed by the Messenger of God - peace be on him -when 'Umar-may God be pleased with him-brought some pages from the Torah. The Messenger of God-peace be on him-said, "By God, if even Moses had been alive among you today, he would have no recourse except to follow me" [Reported by al-Hafidh Abu Yala from Himad, from al-Shubi, from Jabir.]

THE THREE ATTRIBUTES

Assalaamualaikum to everybody who come by this Blog of mine. Here, in this space I let my reasoning, my searching, my questions, my findings roam around. So for anybody who is looking for authoritative works on Islam, this is NOT THE PLACE to refer to. I dont profess to be a learned person, let alone an authorithy of any kind. I am just a person in searching, and I question even the commonly held true practice of Islamic learning. However, let it be made clear here that I am a Muslim who held fast to the fundamental of Islam, ie; There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger and I have respect for the authoritative works of early Muslim scholars. Those who feel that I have something to contribute or question to share are very welcome to browse these pages and leave comments. I also welcome counter arguments backed by logical reasonings and facts. However those who wish to use vulgar language and cheap pranks in alternative to intellectual reasoning, please be known that you are not welcome here.

Here I would like to put forward the question as to why out of 99 attributes of Allah s.w.t, only 3 He chooses for us to repeat daily at regular intervals. Those attributes are as shown below;

  • Allahu Akbar ( Allah is Great)
  • Bismillaah ir Rahman ir Rahim (In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful)
These are repeated in daily solat; 20x of Basmalah (4 times each solat), and Allaahu Akbar = 11 in Subuh, 21 in Zuhur, asar and isyak, 16 in maghrib = 90X in daily solat.

Apart from that, Basmalah is said at every start of good activity and Allaahu Akbar at every occurence of significance. When we see something that awe us we say Allaahu Akbar. When we are enchanted with something we say Allaahu Akbar. We say Allaahu Akbar when we see the great forces of nature at work, seeing beautiful creations such as rare butterflies or beautiful horses. As we say these we give attention to The Most High.

Why are these attributes so important for us to keep reminding ourselves? Those who have lost the significance of these are to be symphatised with, their mouth wet with zikr but the essence of it does not seep in beyond the speech and citation. We are supposed to say these with full consciousness and not just chantings like a mantra.

When we get up in the morning the first thing we do is Subuh Solat. We start each day by saying ALLAAHU AKBAR... Before anything, any mundane works, any task, any job, we proclaim Allah is Great. Before we face the world, people, works, bosses, Tuankus, our family, we declare that Allah is Great. We set our mind at the start of the day that Allah is Great; nothing worthy of awe, fear, intimidation, utmost loyalty but Him. Allah is the Greatest, nothing else matter but Him and our devotion to Him. These we say every day but how much impact does have on our lives?

Immediately after that we proclaim the 2 other attributes of Him; Beneficent, Merciful. We remind ourselves 20 times daily that whatever we do, whatever the outcome of our labour, whatever went wrong or right in our daily chores, Allah is Beneficent and He is Merciful. We say this CONCIOUSLY and not just a chanting to be counted in numbers. We remind ourselve that Allah gives and Allah have mercy on His creations. But how much does it motivate us to do good, how much effect does it has on us upon facing calamities and trial of life?

Saying these daily consciously should have tremendous effect on how we live our life, on our balance in life?

How does the ritual reflect on our countenance? Are our faces perpetual clowns in ugly grimace or in perpetual sadness if these are said in full consciousness 20 times daily at intervals? What about those that perform all the daily solat plus other sunat solats but these words have no effect on his countenance nor his soul and he goes about daily as grumpy individuals seeing threats at ever corner, suspicous of all people not in his group, his family always suffering from the lashes he gives out with that organ Allah give for speech. Are they really reciting the Basmalah or not?

It is really hard to convince myself that these people really feel what they recited daily and put beneficent and merciful attitude in their daily life...

Similiarly those who say every now and then that Allah is Great but kow tow to every evil deed their bosses asked of them, political bosses or bosses at work. Similiarly chickening out of every job needing courage and persistence but daily chanting Allah is Great is making a mockery of Allah. Also those given the amanah to uphold Justice, failing to act in justice when the catch is big enough to jeopardise his 'periok nasi' but acting like a big tiger upon small pawns is also mocking the Allaahu Akbar.

It is time to realise and come back to the basic of the Teachings. The Teachings are actually simple but we make it complicated. The rituals are simple and heart touching but we make it a ritual of habit with some esoteric aim rather than the simple practice that it is, customised to help us in daily life. No wonder we gain little from the the ibadah required of us...

LESSONS OF AL ALAQ

It was with great surprise and concern that I came to know some Muslim expect a god that we can have speech communication like we do with our councillor, headmaster or tutor; a supreme being that is there to give DIRECT guide on our everyday problem, mundane or otherwise.

This is an alien god; not a Muslim God; Allah The Most High. Others have such gods; god of rain to call upon for rain, god of the mountain, god of the sky, god of love, god of fertility and a host of gods for various functions. They pray to the images of the gods, with objects in front to represent such god in prayer. They have special ceremonies to communicate with such gods. In some such ceremony a disciple got into a trance and imbued with god’s speech to give answers to the human problem.

These are alien to the concept of God in Islam. God, Allah The Most High is here, within and without, not bounded by Space and Time and nothing whatsoever like Him. He describes Himself as thus (al Ikhlas);

112.001-004 YUSUF ALI Translation:
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.

This is a most important concept... There is NONE LIKE UNTO HIM. This surah according to a Hadith is 1/3 of the whole Qur'an. The concept of God is crystal clear here; The One and Only; perfect UNITY. As-Somad; Eternal, Absolute.. . In other Translation... The Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need). No beginning, no Ending.. And in conclusion; None Like Unto Him.... Anything, any attributes of the makhluq is Not Him...

The serchings of Prophet Ibrahim a.s for God is most illustrative. At first Ibrahim look at the stars and see how high they are, how they adorn and light the sky with their soft lights, how majestic the stars are and thought this is God. Then when the full moon came and the stars dissappeared, he think back... how can a god be overcome by another??... So the stars cannot be god. So he then turn to the moon as the newfound god; the great moon with cool light that shine across the landscape. However when the sun came, the moon recede and overcame by the sun's powerful light that trees and plants bloom towards. The world came alive with the sun.. This must be the God thinked Ibrahim.. But when night came and the sun recede, he thought again... how can a God goes to sleep and leave the world godless??.. How can a god be overcome by night or by anything??... After all these phases only he came to realisation that God cannot be amongs these creations. A God cannot be overcome by others, a God must be there All the time, everywhere, needed by all but not needing any.. He came to discover ALLAH.

Perhaps we can look at Al Alaq (096; ayats 01-14/19; PickthallTranslation) to understand the relation between Him and His creations;

001: Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth,
002: Createth man from a clot ,
003: Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous

004: Who teacheth by the pen
005: Teacheth man that which he knew not.
006: Nay, but verily man is rebellious
007: That he thinketh himself independent!
008: Lo! unto thy Lord is the return
009: Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth
010: A slave when he prayeth?
011: Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah)
012: Or enjoineth piety?
013: Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward?
014: Is he then unaware that Allah seeth?

Another ayat in the Qur’an says;
031_018 (LUQMAN)YUSUFALI: "And swell not thy cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth; for Allah loveth not any arrogant boaster.

This is the God of Islam; Allah.... None Unto Like Him.
He is the Creator... create man from a clot of blood. Prophet Muhammad, the desert man was reciting this verse to the Arabs of the desert on the origin of man without microscope and all the modern gadgets.. In fact the true translation from old Arabic (from the writing of Maurice Buccaile) was 'The Clot that Clung'... this is in-thing micro biology.. It describe the fertilised egg thatg clung to the uterus wall..

This is teaches man by the Pen (Qalam). Qalam is not just the Sheaffer, Parker or Pilot pen that we use. Qalam is the wittings of Allah in the landscape of His creations... the world around us, the happenings, the creatures, the creations, the thought process, hence all process from which we learn new things....Teaches man that which he knew not...

The Allah says.. man is rebellious and thinks himself as independant.. Hit smack on us .... Bulls Eye.. Then Allah says..Is he unaware that Allah seeth?

The basic essence of God is that we needed Him for everything and He has no need of us. However he bade us say 20 times daily in prayer... Say in the name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful. He also advocate saying the Basmalah to start on anything... as a reminder of the 2 attributes of Allah... Beneficent, Merciful.

Allah is also the al Jabbar (Yang Maha Kuasa), the al Qahar (Yang Maha Perkasa) but we are not enjoined to say Bismillaahil Jabbar il Qahhar everyday as the Basmalah. Think about it...
